Setting Custom Scale and Rotation Points

Resizing and rotating objects can be enhanced by changing the point they scale from or rotate around.

Changing the scale point

  • Right click on an object > Transform > Scale.
  • Select either Scale from Center, or Select Scale Point.

Once you do this, a red control point will appear for that object. This can be dragged to any point in relation to the object, even to points outside of it. Wherever that point is in relation to the object will remain constant while resizing.

Note that the point will disengage if you deselect the object and select it again.

Changing the rotation point

  • Similarly, right click on an object > Transform > Rotate.
  • Click Select Rotation Point.

By default the rotation point is in the center, you may wish to move the point to the center of another object for example, so that your object will now rotate around it.

Likewise with the scaling point, the rotation point will disengage if you deselect the object and select it again.
